    Question Makar or Fox

Which one do you prefer: Cale Makar or Adam Fox? Both 23 years old, similar points productions in last 2 years.

Stats in my league: G, A, +/-, PIM, SOG, PPP, SHP, GWG, HIT, BLK

Makar and I don't really think it's that close.

Makar is about 9 months younger and first two years PPG are:

    Year one
    Makar: 0.87 ppg
    Fox: 0.6 ppg

    Year Two:
    Makar: 1.02
    Fox: 0.85 ppg

Eye-test also says Makar is the more gifted offensive player imo. I own both and would be asking a king's ransom for Makar if I was looking to trade him.

It would depend on the type of league for me. Adam Fox averaged 1.85 blocks per game, while Makar will likely finish the season well below 1.0.

Makar will likely outscore Fox but in my roto league I would pick Fox as I dont believe in tanking categories and only dmen get meaningful amounts of blocks. Getting nearly 2 blocks a game from your star dman is invaluable to the rest of your roster construction.

But isn't getting elite forward level point production from your star D make roster construction EVEN easier? Not saying you are wrong, but seems like blocks are easier to pick up than points from D men later in a draft.

for me the way ive done it in my roto leagues i prefer the blocks so i dont have to play a plodder putting up 20 pts a season to cover my peripherals at the end of the season. same reason why ive just blindly played seth jones all season.

id much rather find 10? extra assists than 100-150 blocks in an 82 game season. im days away from winning this league with Fox/Jones and the guy trying to catch up had to bench quinn hughes/samuel girard, pay big for alec martinez and start playing dmen in the util spot mid-season cause he needed to catch up in blocks. he got there and ended up sacrificing his scoring categories anyway.

in practically every other league format including categories h2h i would pick makar.

Makar. Best keeper fantasy Dman in the game in my opinion, and should be for years to come.

Fox is great too, but Makar is just on another level
