I would hate to have him coach me or my team, but I do admit, I have a tremendous admit is respect for the man. No question, he would be horrible to work for especially if you were in his doghouse. I love that he is a straight shooter and won’t hesitate to call somebody out on his bullshit. He does have a brilliant mind for hockey as well. Also, the entertainment value is through the roof with the man. The old school mentality is definitely a dying breed; is he done? Not sure he lands anywhere else.

Reports that he does not want to retire. I do wonder how quickly teams call though.

He looks great for 63. Wonder which team(s) will take interest in him.

He's a quote machine and gets results but he is a hard coach to play for. He demands a lot and clearly gets a lot because the results in Columbus alone show that.

I don't know where he ends up, Seattle maybe, but I hope he's back behind the bench somewhere.

No guarantee Laine comes back either. $7.5M qualifying offer and finishes the season under .5ppg and -29 in Columbus. Yeesh

Again. Laine needs to give his head a shake before he turns into Alexandre Daigle.

I remember people wondering if he would get another job after Vancouver. Took a year off, then got Columbus. Someone will give him a chance. It would be humourous if he landed in Winnipeg to coach Dubois again.

I wonder if he'd ever assistant coach. I don't even think he can build a system for a head coach to use, I think he needs to be a head coach to get results. Would be curious tho if he'd ever consider that.

I've also wondered if he'd ever consider World Juniors, or if the States would consider him. He can get a lot out of teams and shelf life isn't a think in the WJC. He'd either boom or bust.

I think Jarmo answered this this morning in his presser.

    https://twitter.com/wyshynski/status...45633023840262

"We got him in a big trade. We've got his rights for two more years. It's self-explanatory, I think."

    Thanks for posting that.

Publicly stating that you'll definitely overpay an under-performing player because he's a hole you dug yourself into seems like a bizarre negotiating tactic.

LOL! I guess he sees things we don't.

On a side note, since this is the Torts thread after all, I dont know why but I could see him doing some interesting (in a good way) things with a roster like Buffalo. They are much like CBJ where they are constantly underachieving. Just me thinking out loud.
