    Default Kris Letang

Absolutely no love for Kris Letang in the Norris discussion. Why?

His season: 2nd in defenseman points, always a TOI leader, plays all situations, runs PP1, and please - name the rest of the Pit defense!! No Jacob Trouba, no Alex Pietrangelo, no Mikhail Sergachev nor Ryan McDonagh, no Sam Girard or even Devon Toews. Yeah.... John Marino, Mike Matheson.

His legacy: 3 Stanley Cups, and has been #1 defender on contending team for 10 years. Should have had a Masterson, too. (He had a STROKE, for those who forget.)

Sure, my vote (yeah right) as best NHL defenseman would be Hedman. But #2 and #3 shouldn’t be popularity or looking at the future. Letang has been elite for years, and is elite today. Deserving of a nomination, but doesn’t even make the conversation???

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

Because there are nights where Letang's a real puzzling adventure in his own end. Those have been few and far between this year, but I think that rep undermines a case for best dman for all but those who have watched most/all Pens games this year and have seen how well he's played.

Yeah he appears to be forgotten but he is having great season....he is not the only one....Talk for norris is between Hedman and Fox and im not sure thats right

To me best D right now is Hamilton, and i would also give some considerations to Chychrun even tho his team is pretty bad and his defensive numbers are struggling.

Nurse also had great season and has best +- of these guys (bad stat or not, appears that team does well with on the ice)

Dougie, Hedman, Letang, Nurse, Fox, and Theodore are the top 6.

Hamilton - Great season, top team
    Hedman - It's Hedman
Letang - Late season surge for voters
Nurse - On a Canadian team, doing well
    Fox - League point leader
Theodore - Top team, top D-man.

I think once the season is done, and when everyone sees the final stats in points (as we all know that heavily influences the award), we'll have a clearer picture of the top 3. But I think the top 2 are Hamilton and Hedman and the jockeying is just around the 3rd position.

LW: J. Robertson, Byfield (C), Guenther
RW: Pavelski (C), Giroux (C), Svechnikov (LW)
D: Fox, Makar, Bouchard, Morrissey, Gudas

Hedman will most likely win this but to omit Letang form any kind of consideration is pretty sad. Having a great year so he is very deserving.

Fox wins by a hair over Hedman. And if he took more shots, its wouldn't be close. Hedman is only +7 on the team with one of the best G in the world, not good enough! Fox is +18 with rookie goalies on a team that isnt even in the playoffs. Letang isn't in this.
