Finals Advice - Which Goalies to Start (Rep)
Well I limped into the finals which are next week and am looking for some advice on which 2 goalies to start. My league details are in my signature and below are my options:
- Vasilevskiy vs Dallas and one of the Dallas and Florida back-to-backs
- Smith vs Vancouver (4 games and he’ll likely start 3)
- Hellebuyck vs Ottawa and Calgary
The other team has Varlamov and Grubauer so it is going to be a tough match-up and I really would appreciate any thoughts or advice.
Also, both Ovechkin and Krug have 4 games next week and are day to day. If they aren’t back in the line-up for their first game Monday would you put them in and hope for 3 games? Other options would be Karlsson for Krug and either Zuccarello or Burakovsky for Ovechkin.

Its hard to not start Vas but Smith has a great schedule and should see 2-3 starts against Van so I would say to start him for sure. Helle has struggled but is a stud. Kind of a toss up between Helle and Vas. I dont think you can go wrong with either.
When it comes to the DTD guys I would just monitor it as closely as possible as the day goes on. Hard to not start Ov even if he does miss one game, thats assuming it is only one more. Sorry I cant be more help here, thats a tough one.

Smith with a possible 3 games and Helly vs lesser competition. I think Helly can win both. As for the other thing, injuries are always hard to predict. St. Louis really needs Krug so I think he will suit up (JMO) and I would think Washington might be thinking of resting OV but who knows. I would put Krug in and OV has started skating so it's a toss up. If it was me I'd put both in and hope for the best. Good luck

IMO - if you can't pick your own goalies for your fantasy finals... you don't deserve the win.

This is really tough, WPG has been in a big slump and Vasilevsky just got the weekend off so how many of the games will he get this week?
I would say Smith and Vasi with the intent that 1 or two games from Vasi is enough to get you the percentages.
I also have Ovie which has been frustrating, he practiced Friday so at this point I will be grateful if he plays at least two games this week.

Hellebuyck and Vasilevskiy. Easy for me. Have to live and die by your best players. I’d rather lose with the two of these guys starting lose with one of them on the bench. Let your best players be your best players.

Fair comment and at the end of the day it will be me making the call on which two to start. Been a rough last few weeks of the season with injuries and a slumping Helle so was just looking for other opinions / insight before I make my final roster decisions
