    Default Nils Lundkvist

Recent SHL update did not include anything on him and he refused to sign NHL contract last year using COVID as a reason. Anybody knows anything about him coming over or what the plan is? he has been outstanding in SHL specially on PP but its been very quite when it comes to him and Rangers.

Likely will sign his ELC this summer.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

My opinion. Why would he not sign? A chance to play in the best league in the world in one of the more desirable cities and make the most money.

again i been following him for a while...he didnt want to sign last year....its been quite on his front, there was a SHL prospect report that covered about 20 players and may way less valuable than Lundkvist and he was not on it and i cant find any info at all. His playoffs just finished other 2 studs from that league signed as soon as playoffs finished.

I have no reason to believe he wont sign but im looking for facts if anybody got any....

    April 20/2021 (lohud.com)

"Rangers associate general manager Chris Drury told the USA TODAY Network in March that the organization is planning to sign him "as soon as we can," which general manager Jeff Gorton reiterated last week.

With only 10 regular-season games left this season, the Rangers intend to have Lundkvist begin his entry-level contract in 2021-22. The goal is to have him participate in training camp with an opportunity to win a roster spot.
The competition will be stiff, with Jones, Tarmo Reunanen, Braden Schneider, Matthew Robertson and Hunter Skinner among the prospects already under contract. But Lundkvist may have the best odds to break camp with a role in the lineup."

He has nothing left to prove in Sweden so looks like Rangers brass will try everything to get him here for next season.

I just grabbed him with my 1st rd pick (23rd overall - 24 man salary cap league - not league in sig). These forums have convinced me to grab him as the pay off might be large (in time). We dress 6 D weekly, and added him to my Hughes and Ty Smith. Comes cheap for 3 years and allows me to pay more for a forward in the upcoming rounds. Fingers crossed this works out. Power was just taken ~4 picks earlier.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

I have been sitting on him as well. How convinced are we that he plays regularly in the NHL this year this year as opposed to sitting in the press box or playing in the AHL?

he will not sit in press box …could he see AHL time? I guess but if he owes it will be based more on roster spots than talent…he is NHL ready but he does not need waivers to go down.

He has a great shot at making the squad - bottom pairing. Drury has only said good things about him at camp. He's impressed at rookie camp with his skating, passing, vision and shot. His ability to process the game at a high level has also been mentioned. Lots on twitter to read if you give him a search.
