Stash Byfield?

Byfield is available in my roto league (sig). I am currently 1st place.

I am high on him, and expect him to contribute but not sure when he will make the jump and even when he does how long will it be till he makes a reasonable impact.

Do you guys think he is worth a pick up and use one of my 12 keeper spots for him?
My expected keepers are highlighted in my sig. Could maybe swap Jones?

Tough decision.. I would almost keep guys like Larkin Konecny Mantha or Fiala over guys like Byfield(may be traded to Buffalo) Nurse(Klefbom may return next year) and Wheeler(1 more year older next year)

Yeah those are all solid considerations. I dont have to lock keepers yet. Just wondering if its worth burning a roster spot ROS, which I wont do if not a keeper option.

Perfect. this is what I was looking for and how I was leaning. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake letting him slide.

yeah hard to sacrifice anything for Byfield right now, but in two years you will wish you did..lol..

The way he has played in AHL, and how he appears to mature with each game, i think he will be on Kings next year and i expect him to provide 40-50 points.

Inclined to also agree with Zorro here.

The thing is, the 1st place team shouldn't even be getting a sniff at "stashing" a guy like Byfield at this point. Total assumption but the fact that he's currently available and hasn't been "stashed" by a rebuilding team suggests that you could like trade for him in his first couple of years (before he really hits his stride) without having to give up too much anyways. (And in the interim, keep your producing guys and win another title or two before then!)
