Expectations for Sam Bennett in Florida

If you watched the game last night he drew like 5 penalties (will make Q happy), won a bunch of faceoffs, and spent some time on the top powerplay unit. Last nights game (even though he had no points) did nothing but make me more confident in his expanded role on the panthers.

He had stretches like that in Calgary, especially in the playoffs. Then he would inexplicably revert back to barely replacement level for much longer stretches.

Oh for sure, I'm in Calgary so I've got to watch a lot of him over the years. I just meant specifically last night he had a bigger impact on the game than the boxscore shows. If they just could have converted some more on the powerplay (27mins of it...), but Carolina's penalty kill was impressive.

his deployment is great so cant complain. im in a tight battle for PIMs (while needing to maintain scoring) so any stupid 2 pims helps alot lol

Then you understand why he drove Flames fans so crazy. I’ve followed the Flames since they left Atlanta and Bennett is by far the most disappointing prospect in their history. I really thought he was going to be a special player.

After last night's game of 0 pts and -1 in 21 minutes of ice (10 on the PP!!), I need to change my opinion.

I'd be happy if he got 40-50 points given his peripherals of close to PIM/game and almost 2 Hits/game. It certainly looks like he has a new life in Florida early on.

whats worst is my minors to pro stream one day was tanner jeannot instead of brandon hagel because hagel had a red flag day to day .

hagel had the game of his life that day and those fp's would have definately put me over the top . ahhh well
