    Default PIMS for Playoffs

My H2H playoffs start next week and I may find myself needing to goon it up to win the PIM cat, I have 3 moves a weeks so have some flexibility to add/drop guys. Who has the best odds of some juicy PIMS:

    Lucic
Lemieux (thought new team may spark him, no PIMS so far though)
Liam O'brien (recently called up, big PIMS, will he stay)
Sam Carrick (recently called up, more offense?)
    Soucy (D)
    B Smith (D)
    Morin (D)
    Gudbranson (D)

Carrick and O'brien may be "fighting" for roster spots as well, are they more likely to mix it up? Carrick is intriguing as he has been chipping in offensively, on PP2

I'd probably go Lucic here, CGY fighting for a playoff spot, got four games next week and guaranteed to be a part of all of them with Sutter behind the bench.

I'm here, I'm here... and I love speculating on PIM.

So... there's 4 guys I like, playing for ANA, LA, SJ.
These three teams will be out of the Western playoffs soon enough (as I expect STL starts winning).
Once they are out, there's not much to play for... except pride... and fighting = pride for the goons.

    Player #1: Brendan Lemieux (LA).
Lemieux was recently traded to LA from NYR. He hasn't yet gooned it up and fought for LA... which shocks me. He will soon.
He has 59pim this year, 2nd in NHL.
Last year he also finished 2nd in NHL (Evander Kane won PIM last year).
Don't think Lemieux doesn't know where he stands. It's a fun thing for these guys to say "Yeah, I lead the league in PIM that year..."
Lemieux isn't a "heavyweight" fighter though... more of a middleweight, so expect him to do something stupid and get a misconduct... semi-intentionally... one game when LA is out of it.

    Player #2: Kurtis Gabriel (SJ)
Gabriel is my #2 because he's SJ's fighter. Kane can fight too... but Gabriel is getting it done.
(Worth noting, Gabriel has 55pim in just 11gp this year... so he's not "qualified" for stats, yet, but 55pim puts him THIRD!... and first in PIM/gp)
***NB: Gabriel has played VERY LITTLE last month... as San Jose has been winning... scratched last 10gp... so don't add him until/unless SJ is OUT.OF.IT.***
He's part of the California heavyweight trio, which also includes:

    Player #3: Nicolas Deslauriers (ANA)

    and

    Player #4: Kurtis MacDermid (LA)

    So... there's the guys.
The key thing... scheduling... you want to see when LA, ANA, SJ all play each other.
And... have one, if not two... of the heavyweights.

But Lemieux surely doesn't want to finish 2nd in PIM for a second straight year.
    So... the misconduct is coming...

    Good luck.

Nice, thanks Pengwin! Lemieux was at the top of my list as well, will keep an eye on all these guys, agree if/when Gabriel plays again, he will be looking to tussle. Guys like Lucic/ Carrick interest me because they may actually get some pts/sog to help out if they don't get any PIMS which is nice

I'm really going to need San Jose to lose today and tomorrow so I can take a flier on Gabriel. Hopefully those losses would be enough to signal that they're out of it.

Do you have a good source for starting lineups? Lemieux was out Saturday, I think scratched. I'm holding him for now given that he plays ANA four times this week but needless to say he needs to be let go immediately if he's out again.
