It's funny, I've always had a hate for Erne because of a greasy check-from-behind when he was playing in the Q one game against the Mooseheads I was at. He absolutely drilled Druoin with a hit from behind that was just nasty.

He definitely has a nasty side. And now he's Detroit's leading goal scorer. Although that isn't saying much...

Yeah, Erne has been solid on the DET PP.
Sometimes, some of these players... they just need opportunity and for somebody to believe in them.
In Erne's case... having been drafted by Yzerman (TB, 2013)... and then acquired by Yzerman (as an RFA, Aug '19)... he seems to have settled in.
Actually Erne's grit-hands game probably is a factor in what allowed Yzerman to feel they could move Mantha.
(On the flipside, 3esa in 36gp is NOT good. And 3esa in 56gp last year is also not good. The other stats are masking this flaw... which is that he really doesn't have great vision/passing.)
FWIW - he's not a long-term solution for a Detroit Top6.
But for now... he patches in ok.
