Agreed. Some very poor asset management by the Habs here. I've said it elsewhere on this site, but apparently Mete wasn't old enough or slow enough to fit into this Habs D group...

Mete is fast, but doesn't bring anything else to the table. He's not going to win puck battles or battles along the boards or in front of the net. He doesn't have a powerful slapshot. He doesn't make excellent seeing-eye passes. He doesn't hit or shoot the puck. He's fast. That's about it.

On the one hand, seems like an asset you don't want to lose for free.
On the other, I'm sure they tried to get like a 5th-7th for him and couldn't so what do you do?
IDK, seems like poor asset management to me but you also have to best lineup and reasonable people can disagree on if Mete is part of that.
