Can someone break down the Lashoff part to me. Did they use him for more cap space in any way?

Still room for more moves if they get creative again. They would have more ammo if they had gotten a better return for Volkov... or if they had Volkov himself as a trade chip.

To be completely fair they traded Volkov for something they used at the trade deadline, the absence of his cap hit. I would agree with you if they could unload a bad contract using him as a sweetener but I see no one taking Johnson just to add Volkov and a mid-round pick or something of the like.
