Default Trading for Sid - REP

Let me start this by saying, I do not think I need Sid this year however, his playoff schedule in our league would play well with my team and I have an aging team, so I'm going all in. There is a team that is clawing for the last playoff spot that may end up out of the hunt after this week. We have one more week of reg season left. He has been making me offers to trade me Sid all year, but the price has been steep so I have just walked away a bunch of times.

However, he recently sent me an intriguing offer - on the surface, it looks steep IMO however, for this year its really Couture for Sid, which is a sizable upgrade. The other pieces are injured and not expected back before the playoffs.

I give: Couture, Seguin & Bertuzzi
    I get: Sid

Thoughts? This could go up in flames if he bounces back this week and stays in the hunt, the offer is in principle only (he hasn't formally sent it) and says he wont unless he's eliminated. Want to get ahead of my thoughts on this though as I suspect once Monday hits, if the playoff teams are decided it might be a feeding frenzy on trades.

Also, team in sig. Note, not much in my minors, it isn't updated, but I have nothing of much interest. It's mostly just guys I can plug into the lineup, no long-term solutions.

Will rep as always. Thanks in advance!

How many keepers do you have each year? If it's anything under 10 I'd do it, but if you keep all or most of your players I'd say it's far too much.

You are giving up a fair bit here but what catches my eye is the depth you have on your team. Based on that, a 3 for 1 makes a lot more sense. I really don't think the guys you are moving who are on IR are going to make a difference this year. Sid on the other hand should help you. Which brings us to next year. I would far prefer going into a new season with Sid and Kucherov in my line up than Couture, Seguin & Bertuzzi. Again your depth makes the difference for me. Quality vs Quantity. I do this.

I don't mind the deal. Crosby has more to offer than either of those players and with good depth, you add the best player in the deal by a lot. Neither of those guys has 90+ potential anymore. Sid will for 2 more years.

In a keep 50, you gotta look at it as Sid plus 2 waiver wire players vs the three you're giving up. I think that's a clear loss.
