Goalie Problems

Hello!

I picked up Saros (dropped Crouse) last week, he's been so hot lately that I am having trouble bringing myself to drop him but I also feel as though I can't keep four goalies on my roster.

So with my league categories/roster below would you drop one of the NYI goalies for Saros for the rest of this season? Not that I expect him to continue being this hot but will he be good to great down the stretch?

With Saves or Shots Against why can't you keep 4?

Also keep in mind that Nashville plays Chicago 3 times during round 1 of the H2H playoffs.

As long are you aren't limited to a certain number of weekly starts, I'd probably keep Saros. With wins and shots against, volume is key, and hard to imagine you'd lose those categories many weeks. So 4 goalies isn't necessarily a bad thing in your setup.

Crouse is a pretty one dimensional hits guy, and with Nurse/Petry/Savard/Ovechkin/Kane/Stamkos you have a pretty good mix of hits already on your roster. Crouse looks like a PIMS guy as well this year, but over half of them came in one game, so his results on that front are misleading.

I'd also be curious what other players may be available on the waiver wire.

Typically I'll use the Crouse/Saros spot as a streamer option although that may end up being Savard if he doesn't get traded.

My dilemma with holding onto all goalies is I can only start two each night. So last night where all three teams played I lost a game on the bench. I might need to look at the schedule more closely and see if that will be an issue in the playoffs

14 teams and 16 players so not a lot on the wire, mostly guys like Fiala, Tuch, Gourde, Getzlaf, Ritchie. One team drafted exclusively fourth line hitters, big blocking defence and Vasilevsky/Hellebuyck so he's basically untouchable in hits/blocks and usually pims

Definitely look at the schedule and, if you can, also scout your playoff opponent. if they are strong in goaltending categories the 4th goalie could be the difference, even if you have to sit a starting goalie, which happens.
