Necas deployment ROS?

Hey All,

While Trocheck was on IR, Necas was seeing top line / top PP and was producing solid numbers. Now that Trocheck is back, he appears to have dropped back to second line and PP2... this still isn't horrible, but he will likely see a dip in production (pointless over the last 4 games for example).

What are peoples thoughts on Necas going forward for ROS?

Out of Necas, Iafallo and Donskoi... who should be the one I look at replacing with a Waiver spot?

J.Robertson, Marchessault, Killorn, Comtois & Atkinson are current options on the Waiver Wire.

Necas TOI is trending down like you stated. Donskoi's TOI is trending up and has earned himself a spot on 1PP, but no guarantee how long that'll last.

Jason Robertson on the other hand has done very well and has proven himself on the first line and 1PP. I think he would be my choice here. 2nd choice would be Donskoi or Marchessault.

I did this, and also grabbed J.Robertson for Donskoi (as I was figuring he would start running cold)... but now stuck with the original problem... what do I do about Necas? Will he get back to being in the top tier in Carolina? Or do I cut bait and run to someone else?

is there any trade value there? I also think once TT comes back, his deployment could take another hit

My leagues trade deadline was March 31st, so no trade value anymore. And I agree completely, once TT comes back, its likely to get worse rather than better.
Malkin may be coming off IR soon, so maybe I just ride him until Malkin is cleared to play and then drop him to make space.

Martin Necas just had a goal and an assist with Vincent Trocheck lastnight... we'll see if this strong production continues. Remember, as much as Necas' production took a hit, so did Aho's. Keep in mind this is Naco's second full season and he would have started this season at 21 under normal circumstances (sans COVID-19), so it's not out of the realm of possibility that even great young players go in up and down phases. Steven Stamkos as a rookie only had what 13 points in the first half of his rookie season and took off scoring over 30 in the latter. I am still high on Neca's upside being that of a solid 80-90 point guy and he should finish the season off with at least 45 points.

If this was even a one year league, all of those players would be fine to bet on, even though I still prefer Necas this year to any of them, but for a keeper, the future outlook is heavily in Naco's favour. I would keep Marty Necas at all costs, unless it's to upgrade to a superstar, because he has the making of an NHL star written all over him. So star < superstar. None of those guys on your list scream superstars or even are stars. Maybe fringe star talent, like JAM.

As for TT, I can see Necas surpassing TT within a year. The chemistry that Aho and Nacos has is ridiculous. They are likeminded players that feed off the other... they compliment each other's game more than the other guys Aho has to played with and that's saying a lot.
