Trading for Eichel

Hi everyone,

With Ekblad out I'm looking at a trade for Eichel as neither player will help this year and I want more forward help long-term, so trading injured players is fine. The OGM is savvy, but we've done a lot of deals over the years and we're the two most active GMs.

We both have competitive teams (I'm in second and he's retooling due to injuries). Would Ekblad and my 1st be a reasonable offer for Eichel? Alternatively I could go for Teravainen plus my 1st for Eichel and a lower pick. Or should I just hold off? He is missing his 1st rounder so while I'm loathed to trade high picks I think there's a chance to acquire Eichel, it just comes down to whether it's worth it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd 100% do either - now's the cheapest Eichel will ever be! Not sure either offer gets in done though.

agreed. now would be the time to grab eichel. might be hard to get that deal done with your current offer, but it's at least a starting point

I'd lean more toward the Teravainen deal than Ekblad. Ekblad probably gets you better point coverage in your league.
With that said, what's the roster set up? I didn't see that in your signature so don't know how much to value a D vs F

Thanks for the feedback! I'll open talks and see what he wants, or even if Eichel is available. I'll up the offer from TT and a 1st but it's good to see what the consensus is for a market price.

I'd go after Eichel, but I don't think the offers you're considering are at all close to what it would take to get him, especially in a somewhat limited keeper.

If he's a knowledgeable manager, he'll be asking for a lot more, likely Svechnikov / +.

As an Eichel owner and also thinking of moving him, that’s not enough to get him. I’d rather take the hit this season and win next then regret a sell low.

Just based on the scenario, I think it'll be almost impossible to get Eichel from him for anything other than full market value. If he's retooling (presuming you mean a mini/one-year-rebuild), he has zero impetus to sell Eichel. Unless there's some cap implications, I can't see him entertaining the idea unless it's an overpayment on Eichel's upside.
