NHL Regular Season Schedule Updates - through May 11 now

NEW YORK (March 28, 2021) – The National Hockey League today announced the following updates to the 2020-21 regular-season schedule:



Game 498, Edmonton at Montreal, scheduled for March 22, is now scheduled for March 30 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 714, Washington at Boston, scheduled for April 20, is now scheduled for April 11 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 686, Calgary at Montreal, scheduled for April 16 at 7 p.m. ET, will now start at 6 p.m. ET

Game 546, Ottawa at Montreal, scheduled for March 28, is now scheduled for April 17 at 4 p.m. ET

Game 483, Boston at Buffalo, scheduled for March 20, is now scheduled for April 20 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 726, Toronto at Winnipeg, scheduled for April 21 at 8 p.m. ET, will now start at 7 p.m. ET

Game 721, Montreal at Edmonton, scheduled for April 20, is now scheduled for April 21 10 p.m. ET

Game 736, Montreal at Calgary, scheduled for April 22, is now scheduled for April 23 at 9 p.m. ET

Game 761, Montreal at Calgary, scheduled for April 26 at 10 p.m. ET, will now start at 6:30 p.m. ET

Game 760, Edmonton at Winnipeg scheduled for April 26 at 8 p.m. ET, will now start at 9 p.m. ET

Game 564, Montreal at Ottawa, scheduled for March 30, is now scheduled for May 5 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 847, Montreal at Toronto, scheduled for May 7, is now scheduled for May 6 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 510, Edmonton at Montreal, scheduled for March 24, is now scheduled for May 10 at 5:30 p.m. ET

Game 841, Tampa Bay at Florida, scheduled for May 6, is now scheduled for May 10 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 529: NY Islanders at Boston, scheduled for March 23, is now scheduled for May 10 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 833, Toronto at Ottawa, scheduled for May 5, is now scheduled for May 10 at 8 p.m. ET

Game 456, St. Louis at Los Angeles, scheduled for March 15, is now scheduled for May 10 at 10 p.m. ET

Game 526, Edmonton at Montreal, scheduled for March 26, is now scheduled for May 11 at 7 p.m. ET

Game 653, Boston at Washington, scheduled for April 11, is now scheduled for May 11 at 7 p.m. ET

I am hoping Yahoo will reflect leagues to go through til May 11 but not totally confident by any means....

This is the response that horrorfan got when he reached out to Yahoo about extending the season:

"Thank you for contacting Yahoo Sports. This is Noah from Buffalo. I understand you want to know if the Fantasy Hockey season will be extended and I would be happy to help you with that today.

Unfortunately, there are not currently any plans to extend the Fantasy Hockey Season. The season is set to end on May 8th. I apologize for the inconvenience."

This makes good sense for head-to-head leagues and no sense for Rotoleagues.

Not sure if Yahoo is able to, or cares enough to, make that distinction.

This is really disappointing. I've mentioned the problem to my leagues/the commish for non-H2h leagues so we'll see how it goes. One league commish suggested just manually counting stats from may 9-11 haha. even i was like... 'thats too much work'

After following up asking for more clarification from Yahoo as to the reasons for not extending the season, I get this reply:

Our fantasy team is monitoring the situation with the NHL and postponed games. As Noah previously mentioned, the fantasy season as it stands will run until May 8th. It is possible that the season could be extended but at this time the season is still slated to end on May 8th. Should anything change, we will post announcements on the desktop site through a league note and put updates on our social media pages.

I've replied again asking for more clarity and a direct reply as to the conditions for extending the season. Will post if/when I get a response.

they should react quicker so gm's in roto or simple points leagues can make decisions since most of these leagues will have 56 games max per position .

if games are not added , gm's can react accordingly and perhaps stream a little bit to get to 56 .

I still think that them not reacting in the first place was the indicator needed to say they won't react at all. But I seem to be in the minority there.

Just wanted to make a note for people here that fantrax has already reflected the change and leagues can change the end date of their seasons from the 8th to the 11th. Reason again why fantrax is easily the best fantasy website, yahoo sucks.

i probably wont rely on yahoo extending the season anyway in order to more easily utilize the extra game played glitch on May 8th. Also significant risk for players getting rested May 10th/11th if playoff standings are secure.
