Timur Faizutdinov, 19, captain and lead defenceman of MHC Dynamo Saint Petersburg passed away today, 4 days after the fateful coincidence happened during the MHL playoffs game between Dynamo St. P and Lokomotiv youth teams. Timur was hit by a puck in the left side of the face, either in the temple or behind the ear and was quickly taken to one of the hospitals in Yaroslavl. Unfortunately the type of injuries he got blocked every opportunity to transport him to Moscow for neurosurgical intervention.
I'm sorry if it's not the right place to pass a word, but the whole Russian hockey community is devastated and this tragedy stood in the same row of 21th century black pages as Alexey Cherepanov case and HC Lokomotiv plane crash, so I felt that something should be said about it to honor Timur.
