Might be worth holding him to see where he goes in the offseason. I am not sure if a team will make him their clear #1, but there should be a lot of interest. Hopefully he's not another Scott Darling though.
I mentioned in another post that I've been looking to trade Driedger. I picked him up at the start of the season when it seemed that Bobrovsky might miss the start of the season only to drop him right away then I picked him up again at the height of Bobrovsky's struggles. I've been holding Driedger in hopes that he either gets traded or signs someplace next season as the #1 goalie (I fantasize about him signing with the Oilers), but lately I'm starting to have misgivings about him, which has led to me trying to trade him. Am I overreacting to the cold streak he's been on over his past handful of starts? Is he worth holding onto for next year? My team is rebuilding, so I'm not too concerned about his performance this season.

Promising goalie with high potential but also decent bust factor. Hold on, if you can, unless you can get something really good in return right now. Don't overreact to a bad stretch of a few games.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Re: Chris Driedger
3 bad games is all it takes to get you to consider bailing on a goalie?
Every goalie has a stretch like that. Even vasilievsky.
You need 3 weeks to a month of bad goaltending to start wondering like that. And then 2 months before you act on it.
I work on guys like you with special wording in my trade offers designed to devalue the goalie. I can see how I would word a trade to you now.
*i hit Declines trade offer.
"Keep in mind Driedger was always going to be the backup with Bob making all that money and having the solid track record for bouncing back. I don't see a future in Florida for him. It's highly likely he gets traded to Buffalo or Detroit in the offseason"
*Waits a day since nobody is taking Dridger at full value during a slump and then sends a below value offer just a hair above a lowball.
"I could use a 3rd goalie just for spot starts here and there against Detroit and Columbus. I wouldn't risk blowing up my gaa and sv% against the Tampa/Chicago scoring tho. I'm just not paying the outrageous price you asked. I'm hovering on the cancel button even questioning sending this one for playing a goalie I can only spot start"
Most of my leagues know I won't lowball unless they lowball me first. But sometimes you smell the panic like blood in the water when it comes to goalies. If I see a goalie going through a rough stretch and then get an offer for that goalie, I adjust how I bargain accordingly.
It's more that I'm concerned that a protracted slump on his part - or even just not getting to play because he's being benched in favour of Bob - will affect his ability to go to another team and at least settle into a 1A/1B arrangement. I know I'm overreacting, but if he ends up as a backup again next year, then he has no value, so I wonder if I shouldn't trade him while I can. But I'm definitely not going to take any low ball offers for him.

He's not slumping. And the amount of hockey the Panthers have to fit into the remainder of the season guarantees it'll be at least a time share. Bobrovsky is not going to take all the starts. Patience.

Patience is not one my virtues. I also just like trading. But I'm stepping back from the edge for now.
