Stupid question
Would trading a 27yr old Kucherov for a 35yr old Ovie in a keep 4 ever make sense? The last place team put it out there that he's looking to get younger and I'm looking to win now. Ovie still carries some weight in a hits league and he still hasn't lost that cannon of a shot.
J0e Th0rnton brought up a good point on another post, about players returning from hip surgery and never really being the same.
This would seriously impact my keepers.
Edit: isn't Ovie a FA after this season?

In a keep 4 if you really have chance to win that's a lot easier to cover and rebuild.
Now if you have kucherov on the block look around if you can have a better return then only ovechkin. Don't take the first offer without knowing if you can get more.

yes, i would not trade kuch for ovie in a keep 4. i don't think i would take that risk going forward

I would't be opposed to dealing him but not for Ovi, you'd need a better return.
Regarding the hip surgery, it's tough to say without knowing what was done exactly. Kesler for example was DONE after his surgeries but Pasta looks like his same old self. I think Kuch is young enough to come out of it fine.

You are looking into the hip surgery things way too much. Do you really think that a guy coming off a season where he had 85 points in 68 games and 35 points in 25 playoff games would have a surgery that was going to make him a worse hockey player? If there was any chance in that happening, he would just have put off the surgery for a few more years. Ryan Kesler was pretty much done as an NHL player before his surgery. That's a big difference.
With that said, it's not crazy to think about moving a 27 year old for a 35 year old but I would need a lot more than just Ovechkin to trade Kucherov.

What kind of plus we talking here? A 1st in our redraft (top 4)? Another substantial player, like a Kyle Connor (too much)?
