Gs are pretty important in a 24 team league that still requires 3 G starts per week. I'm already one of the best teams at G and I like the long term outlook of Merzlikins over Talbot's...
This said, the way our cats add up for our fantasy pts Schenn is currently 38th among skaters league wide with 5.91 Fpts/game while it's quite a step down to Vatrano with 3.63 and Gusev with not even 2...
There aren't really other options as a return even if Gusev isn't even an upgrade over my bottom guys. But I might be able to flip him for something...
I'm currently sitting 3rd with the other guy sitting 1st (with a much older team, so the deal would be a way to follow our paths consequently).

Outside Schenn all players in this scenario are pretty much fantasy irrelevant. So no go.

I agree that I think it's a big price to pay for a goalie upgrade that mostly comes true down the road. Your league is deep, so most of these guys are relevant - I'm in a couple leagues where they are all rostered.
Schenn is just too good to give up for this.
