Which Avalanche goalie to own outside of Grub - Dynasty
Who do you guys feel will potentially take over for Grubauer? I’ve heard that Annunen will take the leap sooner than expected but not too sure.

The Avs could also choose to get someone via free agency and part ways with Grubauer, if his demands are unreasonable.

Francouz will most likely given the first shot to take over Grubauer if he leaves.

It depends on your assumptions. The depth chart is pretty clear right now.
Currently non-exempt:
Grubauer - UFA 2021
Francouz - UFA 2022
Miska - RFA 2022
Currently exempt:
Werner - RFA 2021
Jones - RFA 2021
Annunen - RFA 2023
Miska/Werner are right now sharing the #3 spot.
If they do sign Grubauer before expansion, both Francouz & Miska are exposed. I think Francouz could get claimed, but Miska probably wouldn't.
If they don't sign Grubauer before expansion, they most likely protect Francouz & expose Miska. In this scenario, Francouz is the guy who would take over, as he'd be there if Grubauer signs elsewhere.
If they end up with just one of the 2 veterans on the roster, it's Werner versus Miska for the backup job. Jones is not ready. I feel that the winner of that battle is the guy who'd likely be next in line down the road, especially if Grubauer leaves.
