Stalock claimed by EDM
Edmonton has claimed Alex Stalock off waivers from Minnesota.
Stalock was waived by the Wild on Sunday in an attempt to get him some playing time in the minors, but it's been a difficult task to get goaltenders to pass through waivers this season. The 33-year-old netminder hasn't played since the postseason bubble due to an upper-body injury. Stalock posted a 20-11-4 record last season with Minnesota to go along with a 2.67 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. He also had four shutouts.

he didn't make it down. Which is why Edm would have to waive him if they want to send him down. The one * is if Minn were able to re-claim him they can send him down without needing to re-waive.

Probably will be a while, since he's American.
I'm wondering why the Wild didn't try to send him down for a conditioning stint recovering from injury. That normally doesn't include needing to clear waivers.

I was pretty confused about this. He hasn't played since August 7th. Pretty surprised they didn't just give him that "AHL Tune up" designation that teams have done in the past. You get like 7 days playing on your AHL team before being brought up to the NHL team? I forget what it's called but I know the Leafs have used that in the past.
Very well could be "illegal" now though.

Leafs bending rules is nothing new lol but the last time they did that AHL for training trick was pre-updated CPA, so maybe it was written in as now illegal.
