Vasilevskiy but at too great a cost???

Hey all,

I'm offered Vasilevskiy and Holl in exchange for John Gibson and Victor Hedman.
G has been my weak spot to date, when Gibson isn't posting SO's his numbers are often bad.
Holl would be dropped on my end but I could pick up a Provorov or Yandle from waivers.

So the trade would in effect look like Vasilevskiy plus Yandle/Provorov for Gibson & Hedman.


Which side of the coin do you like best.

I like this move for you for sure.

The improvement in goalie is huge.
And the drop from Hedman to Provorov is not as significant because your league counts peripheral stats.

What are your keeper settings?

It does seem like a lot to give up but Vas is just so consistent and on such a strong team that it might be worth it. Especially since there are quality dmen on the waiver wire

Give me vasi and provorov without a doubt. Settings would indeed be helpful, but not many goalies are as consistent as Vasi , let alone as good

I'd go for it. Vasilevskiy is probably the best goalie in the league and while Hedman is great, he's not the best Dman in the league. The upgrade in goal is bigger than the downgrade in D.

If you want the best, you have to pay the price. That's a good deal for Vas.

If you can snag Provorov from waivers, well, you need to keep making deals where you package D-men to upgrade elsewhere.

You have Lehner, Binnington, Talbot and Gibson in an 8team league. The goalie cats are 4-7 (36%). The League seems to lean heavy to D with Blocks and hits. Call me crazy, but I don't think you win this trade this yr. Depends on keeper rules if there is any, but I think this is a lot closer than people are making it seem.

Hedman doesn't really hit, but he does all the categories well. He's likely a top 3 D-man in this league? You get the best player, but he gets the best side to me. Coin flip, but not an instant smash like the above have suggested (depending on keeper rules, if it is a keeper league)
