Hey All,
Pulled the trigger on a trade quickly without really analyzing every part... but, it felt right. Did I win this?
I traded away: Pettersson, Werenski, 1st, 3rd, 5th round picks.
I received: MacKinnon, 10th, 12th, 14th round picks.
I sold my next season in order to get MacKinnon instead of Pettersson for the long haul and for potentially better production this season.
I feel like I won, but curious to know others opinions.

I think Mackinnon is worth the picks. He's one of those guys that people don't trade.

It’s a decent deal. You win this year for sure.
I don’t think it’s a clear win for either side next year as those picks could really work out in his favor. But with smart drafting it shouldn’t be too much of a loss for you next year.
Long term I think Pettersson closes the gap a bit with Mack and if the other GM drafts a keeper with the first round pick, they could come out as the overall winner. But if Mack helps you get a ‘ship this year, then that’s all that really matters.

I think it's a win in all years except next, so that's worth it.

Answer is unclear, ask again later. It's a reasonable deal, and that's all you can ask for with so much future value in picks, that you don't even know where they will fall.
Seriously, it depends on what player(s) that pick(s) turn into. On both sides.

Its basically trading away some high picks to convert Petterson into MacKinnon as one of your keepers. Pretty good! If you are good enough GM, Im sure that you will find a way to fix the situation for the next season. A win for you!
