    isnt that what is happening?

To many people, some kind of 'retribution' was a given after his recent public support of Navalny: https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2021...alexei-navalny

Whether or not the bar incident happened, who knows...definitely a lot to be skeptical of though given their political climate

Do you have any proof that it did?

    Allegations are allegations, just that.

I think it’s disgusting that in this climate, allegations are taken as criminal convictions. It’s disgusting. There’s no measure.

No kidding. Also, 'if' it was settled with the woman 10 years ago, I wouldn't think there was anything she could do legally.

If he was playing in the KHL and spoke out against the Russian regime he would get poisoned, literally. Because he lives in the US they try to poison his image and social standing.

Is it possible he did it? Sure, but the timing of it all seems very fishy.

We'll need to wait and see what comes out, but the allegation timing does seem very fishy. While things do sometimes get delayed organically, often allegations happen due to a trigger. For example, if it was motivated by money, it would've happened after his big contract.

Having been on the receiving end of accusations a couple times with absolutely no credibility, I'm always leery of this sort of thing. I will tell you that when I was accused of that by a GF who was cheating on me, one will often get death threats. Turns out, the other guy was actually the one hitting her.

I've been accused of getting a girl pregnant I never had any sort of sex with - we did kiss a few times. Also, it turned out she wasn't pregnant.
There was also an attempt to coverup medical malpractice by blaming the accountant (me) for short staffing issues due to trying to save money by the nurse who did it.

Can anyone else imagine Putin sitting there in his chair thinking, "OMG WHY DOESN'T AMERICA BELEIVE US ABOUT PANARIN?!" lol. Like "How can they not believe my stories about an athlete hitting a female?! It's a fool proof, proven tactic! Get Trump on the phone. He's not the President?! Well why the f did we pay to have him win then?!"

I do like how the general public is able to sniff out a lie. Or question it.

The good thing is that the players on Vityaz have come out and said that they were at the bar with Panarin that night and the reports are completely false. A hotel spokesperson where the incident "occurred' said the reports are false.

It is a rarer skill than you think, unfortunately...

It has always been this way, but social media has given too many people a platform to do too much damage too quickly, before it can be reversed.

Potentially a lot more going on here than just a twitter hashtag and conservative boogieman term.

When you add in the layer of a foreign state that has a history of killing political opponents it gets a lot scarier for Panarin.

No idea what the truth is here, but this could be a lot more complicated than a typical accusation.

There is very little typical about this situation.

I am betting that it didn't happen and his teammates and the owner of the establishment have all said it didn't happen.

Also, an allegation in fact is just that. Alleging something doesn't mean it actually happened, it means someone is simply saying that it did. Until I see evidence, I presume it didn't happen.

That is what is lost today. The presumption of innocence. It's supposed to last until a court of law proves that it did happen, beyond all reasonable doubt. So that's a huge gap there, from an allegation, where we are supposed to presume that it didn't happen (geez especially with no evidence), to conclusive proof that it did, beyond all reasonable doubt. Not any reasonable doubt, but all reasonable doubt.

That's why I think this is garbage because not everyone plays along with the presumption of innocence like we are all supposed to.

So yes, along with the presumption of innocence, I am with Panarin and I say that this didn't happen, until a court of law proves that it did.

Players who were at the bar/hotel said it didn't happen
The workers at the bar/hotel said it didn't happen
No Police report on the situation
The guy who said it happened came out after and said Panarin bought the police to not open a report for $40,000. But only said it after the news about No police report came out...

    Ya sounds very true...
