Last year waiting it out was pretty beneficial.
This year its horrible as good players that are on the list will drop off from it (even though their game has yet to start).
Reshuffles just get worst now.

Re waiting it out...I have noticed it hasn't always helped to wait any more, but I think people have been waiting for McDavid a lot of the time and he has seemingly been removed from the game entirely. But in recent weeks I have waited it out and gotten Pastrnak, MacKinnon, Kaprizov types to shake loose. I have noticed that the second box usually does not improve, but the third box sometimes produces a surprise. In summary I think the risk of waiting is not as worthwhile as it once was but it still does produce some top players sometimes.

I've gotten screwed the few times I waited it out in the post-McJesus era. I've even seen nights where the Oilers game is the last remaining game and even then they removed Draisatl as an option even though he was there earlier when there were 10+ games on the docket.

My rule of thumb is that the top bracket is the one that matters most - 80% of the time that's the pick that will get you your goal, so if you have a tier 1 option (Drai, Pasta, Rantanen) then you take it immediately even if brackets 2-3 are weak. A lot of the options that used to be attractive in brackets 2-3 were all upgraded to brackets 1-2 so they're pretty much irrelevant now.
