Back to back this weekend but Driedger is getting game 1.

It's also game 5 and 6 of 8 vs Detroit, so maybe keep that in mind when evaluating Florida's success this year.

I just snagged him off Waivers in my league. Question I have now; being I have Vask and Andersen... who do I roll as my 3rd goalie... do I keep Driedger and drop Koskinen (now that Smith appears to be taking the reigns in Edmonton)? Is Driedger real enough for me to do that?

Driedger for sure. I want absolutely no part of Edmonton goaltending.

Not wanting to hijack the thread how do you compare Driedger and Kuemper ? Too big a drop off to go from Kuemper to Driedger ? OGM has interest in my Kuemper. Cheers

The risk of Bob is too.... Risky. Hard to see him staying on the bench long term.

Kuemper is more proven. Driedger has about half a season of NHL experience on his resume plus Bob to compete with for starts. He might be the starter next year if he moves to another team. I don't see Florida making a 10-million goalie the full-time backup.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

I feel the drop from Kuemper to Dreidger is pretty steep.

As others have said, Kuemper is more proven, but honestly, Dreidger is the least proven of the 4 guys who make up the top 2 in Florida and Arizona. Raanta versus Bobrovsky isn't close as far as establishment goes.

I scooped him up in my fantasy league when I had to find an alternative for the Devils and Blackwood not playing for the better part of 3 weeks. I have been super happy with the results. Long term, I can't see him being a Panther though. Even with the huge Bob contract, the Panthers have both Knight and Levi in their system. The Panthers have a great problem on their hands. Should be interesting to see how they navigate it. Goalie prospects are tricky.

Another start for Bob. I guess he did just have a 37 save win....

Well, you didn't expect Bob to be a $10-million backup, right? Driedger's true value will come next year when he moves to another team.

If he kept playing the way he was then I don't think it would matter. But after the last start I get why he's in again today.

Bob will get every opportunity to bounce back. If he has another good game today, he'll very likely get the next start too.

Follow the money. Bob must be played as much as possible to rationalize the salary. Driedger can outplay him till the cows come home but Bob will always get the job back. It was just a matter of time before Bob put up two quality starts in a row. Driedger will be on the outside looking in for a spell now. And if god forbid Sergei puts up a few more quality starts Driedger will see his time share cut to a quarter share or less pretty damn quick....

Given the amount of hockey the Panthers have to play in the time left I doubt this very much. And Bobrovsky isn’t going to string quality starts together. It’ll be a 50/50 from here on and will most likely favor Driedger a little given his age and better play.
