I'm in the hunt this year, currently sitting in 2nd place with Gusev contributing 1 single point this far.
Rosters are locked aside from trades, so in order to lose Gusev I'd need another manager to take him.
Currently have an offer for Gurianov to swap in for Gusev + 2nd rounder.
Is Gurianov the guy? Or should I keep looking for a bigger upgrade- I've still got my 1st rounder as a trade chip. Dallas only has 8 games played so far, so this could be sneaky value.

Not sure you're going to do much better than that for him right now - I'd do that.
I like Gurianov more than Gusev, but I don't think I'd do the buy high/sell low thing and pay extra for what might be a modest upgrade.
