I have Kaprizov and believe he has a lot of upside, but this looks like a deal to me. Hard to pass this one up.

Yep. You're losing on age but you're in win-now mode and the added depth is great. Sell on the Kaprizov hype.

You guys don’t see Karlsson as going on a huge decline? Also injury prone? I prefer Kap to Zib but the addition of Karlsson is enticing, however as of now both Karlsson and Zib have less fantasy pts(less than 20) than Kap(30 fpts). Just makes me pause a bit on Karlsson’s decline.

Also having alot of NYR(Strome,Panarin,Kreider,Buch) is that not a good idea to put my eggs in one basket even though Rangers are up and coming team.

Karlsson can be irrelevant in this deal Zib >>> Kaprizov right now.

Ultimately, Karlsson is 30 years old, and decline is inevitable at some point. But last year he was injured, and in a "bad" year (his worst since 2010/11) he averaged 0.71 pts/g. I think the long layoff has helped him get back to full health, and he's now playing nearly 27mins per game so far this year. He's off to a low start points-wise, but he looks a lot more mobile than last year, and his advanced metrics tell us that he's just waiting for a little bit of puck luck. I think this is a good time to buy low on Karlsson...

And while I don't think Zib will match last year's totals (s% was way too high), I do think he's a legitimate pt/g player, and most of his metrics also indicate that he is simply suffering from a bit of bad luck (as are the rest of the Rangers). And he's in the middle of his prime, with plenty of good years left.

Overall, I think you're buying low on two very good players, and selling high on a rookie with a lot of hype right now. I do think Kaprizov will be good, but unless you are in the middle of a rebuild, which doesn't appear to be the case, I'm hitting accept on this one.

    Agree with others.

I love Kaprizov... but the hype is off-the-rails if people see him as better than Zibanajed.
    Ziba > Kaprizov.

If there are other throw-in pieces (like Karlsson)... all the better.

And I wouldn't worry about Zibanajed... slow start with 2pts in 7gp. And the East is a tough decision, esp defensively/goaltending.
    He'll get going.

And next year, hopefully, there will be no more "East Only" play for NYR.

Even if you were in the basement, you could end up flipping both of those players for multiple assets and improving your team even more... in the... "trade a paperclip up to a house" approach.

Yeah the problem is age of players with breakout potential is valued quite highly and there may be only 1-3 teams competing so Karlssons value isnt very high to rebuilding teams and Kap has higher value than Zib lol
