Question McDavid trade Time to walk away

Keep 6 , team in signature.

I think it’s time to walk away.
Tried everything to obtain Marner. It came down to including McDavid.

    Offer 1:
McDavid, koskinen, Bjorkstrand for Marner, Point, Connor

    Offer 2:
McDavid, Marchand, Ristolainen, Kuemper for Marner, Point, Barkov, Connor, Gibson.

Time to walk away and hold onto McDavid ?

    Limited keeper? Yeah, walk away.

First deal is the more acceptable of the two IMO. You'd be swapping McD and Hall probably as keepers for Marner and Point. I prefer having the trump card of BPA in a points only pool here.

In the second one I think your giving up the two best players in the trade. McD and Marchand.

In a full keeper I think an argument could possibly be made for either one of those since a quantity of talent can make sense over the pure quality of the top assets in those situations but I just don't see that being the case here.

Man it looks like you’re paying a lot for the privilege of trading away McDavid. I don’t like either deal really.

Walk away. You might want Marner, but if it's going to cost you McDavid in some sort of deal, walk away.

Appreciate it boys, have been struggling with this one far too long, lots of back and forth with OGM.
Walking away, nothing to see here.

Always remember that the more someone pushes for a player the more you need to be skeptical of offers they make. Either you have to get something 100% lopsided in your favor, or, in this case, hold pat.

Time to walk away and hold onto McDavid ?
So when all is said and done, your 6 keepers would now be:
Marner, Point, Barkov, Connor, Panarin and Vasilevsky
    vs
McDavid, Malkin, Panarin, Marchand, Hall, Vasilevsky

I would probably do this. You get a hell of a lot younger and do not lose really in points (Marchand is still amazing and will be for 2 years, Malkin looks tired, disinterested and is almost 35, Hall is sooo overrated in my books).
10 team keeper league dress 4 LW, C, RW, 6 Def and 2 Goalies (gls and asts are a pt for fwds and 1.5 for Def, as is a +, but also -1 for a - forwards and -1 for "D", G - 2 pts for win, 5 for SO and pts for saves)
LW - Landeskog, Robertson, E. Kane, Guentzel, Huberdeau, Kreider, Schwartz (C/RW)
C - Stamkos, Zibanijad, Wright, Norris, Seguin (RW), Larkin, Zegras, Zary
RW - Rantanen, Olofsson, Kuzmenko (LW), Sharangovich (LW/C), Laine, Arvidsson (LW)
D - M. Anderson, Josi, S. Jones, Toews, Theodore, Faber, , Korchinski, Zellweger, Mintyukov, Larsson, H. Lindholm, K. Miller
G - Andersen, Gustavsson, Saros, Vejmelka

    Agree with others.
McDavid's value is HIGHEST in shallower keepers.
Because he's going to be paired in a two-for-two trade.

Let's say McDavid(100)+Provorov(50) for Marner(90)+Q.Hughes(60) is the deal.
    150 for 150

In a deep keeper, it's a level trade.
Maybe the waiver F is 50pts... and the waiver D is 30pts.
The relative difference for either side is going to be 150-80 = 70.

In a shallow keeper, the least-player might be close to replaceable/upgradeable
Maybe the waiver F is 70pts... and the waiver D is 45pts.
The relative difference for either side is going to be 150-115 = 35.
BUT... the key part... is that IF a 45pt D man is on the wire... then he's pretty close to Provorov.
If you find a 52pt D man... then you replace Provorov and your side has 152. (McDavid 100/52)

People don't always understand it when they say "The better player-side usually wins"... but this is why.
Because trades are usually 2-for-2 when the top player is better than the #2 player.
It's the EASE/LIKELIHOOD of replacing the secondary player that give the team with the BEST player the ultimate win.

    So... keep McDavid.
