Criticize My Team

So, throwing this out there. If you ran my team (team/league details in sig), what changes would you make? I'm not likely a favourite to win, but should be competitive this year, and am hoping to have a shot at winning the next few years. What positions would you plan to upgrade? What players would you potentially target? And why? Positive and negative feedback welcome. Appreciate your thoughts.

It's fine. Esp w/Pastra back... let your team play out for the next 3 H2H matches.
I don't see any point micro-managing a team after one H2H match.

yeah you're fine and that roster should have you in the mix competing, though I havent seen the other teams.

Right now LW looks like it drops off after Svechnikov but Pastrnak and Teraveinen--along with all your dual-wing eligible guys--will give you flexibility and make that better sooner than later.

G is the only light area I see....after Price, Murray is on a bad team and Shesterkin/Koskinen are young guns trying to prove enough to hold onto their spots. Plus they are also on mediocre teams. We might have thought the Rangers, in particular, would be better, but they have not shown it yet. EDM is what they've been for quite a while now, explosive offensively, but leaky defensively. I'm willing to invest in the young guns since they are both talented, but if you could upgrade Murray that would help.

Love your keeper set... although admittedly it's missing a bit of truculence based on your cats. (For the year you look well covered)

If there was an area to "improve" - that would be it imo... but I actually think you're fine to compete moving forward with that keeper set and some strategic drafting.

Koskinen is actually 32! This is his second go-round in the NHL after being drafted by the Islanders in 2009

Look to see what's out there to upgrade your RW, or find a a winger with dual eligibility. Might require you to move Kotkaniemi for it.

With PIM, HITS and BLKS, a little more truculence would set you up nice. Svech is very nice but adding Kane, a Tkachuk, or similar would seem to do wonders for your team. Without seeing the other rosters, hard to say what those teams need, but I would expect - and would be willing - to pay a steep price to grab someone like that as a keeper.

And yeah, your goaltending after Price is hoping that either Shesty comes good.

I'd love to grab a youngish but established power forward ie. B/M Tkachuk, Wilson, etc. But they're tough to come by, and the GMs who have them hold on tight. Would likely require a significant overpay. I was generally able to address my "toughness" through the draft, but would love to nail down a permanent keeper or two to fill that gap. Any thoughts on up-and-coming prospects to consider?

The GM who has him generally likes to make deals, so it's a possibility. I worry about a power forward his age dropping off a cliff when they hit 30. But in any case, what kind of offer would you suggest I use as a starting point for discussions?

In a 12 team league, you should be happy with what you assembled. Maybe trade Pulock or Koskinen if/when they get hot, as I don't trust either one long term. But otherwise trust what you have.

What kind of pieces would you be willing to move to add one of the Tkachuks?

Post the GM of Evander Kane and Tkachuk's teams is possible and I could formulate an idea of how I would approach it. or at least the general weaknesses of their teams
