I think that is a trade I would hit accept on.
Laine is getting a fresh start, but it's new teammates, system and playing for Torts.
Though if you believe in Laine's new situation will bring him back to being that 40 goal man ot better, then maybe you hold off.

You get clearly the best player in the deal.
It's a sell high on Carlson - who will begin to decline rapidly at age 31
Laine is always hurt and who the hell knows how this whole CBJ experiment goes
Mathews is a young elite elite talent on an outstanding team and his role is rock solid top line everything.
Easy accept for me.

Just throw me on the pile here, even though I think Laine will bounce back and it’s closer than some other seem to think, you will win in the long run. It might hurt a bit this year and next when Carlson still puts up great numbers but Washington is trending downwards, Columbus is what they are, and the Leafs are trending upwards. I want on that ride 10 days out of 10

How many keepers? Do positions count? C's are the easier to find, but I have no idea if that even matters.
The more limited the keeper, the more advantageous the deal. But if it's dynasty with 4C, 4RW, 4LW, 6D, 2G and a big bench...then it starts getting less appealing.

Given this info, I'd do it. If it was something like 10 keepers with LW,C, RW I probably wouldn't.

So it was sent via text so I couldn't just hit accept. He has now sent the offer with me adding a 1st round pick and him giving back a 2nd. I don't think that changes much for me. Thoughts?
