Laine vs Konecny

A manager is interested in getting Dubois from me. He’s willing to offer either Laine or Konecny... who do you prefer for this season?

I think I prefer both to PLD this year, it's just hard to nail down where Laine will play on the CBJ. I think I still go Laine.

Koneckny for me but it’s close. I would take both over PLD for this year

I am always nervous on adjustment periods for players going to a new team. Especially in the case of Laine going to a team with less skill and a coach like Torts.

So in a league where you only keep 2 players - we are only concerned about the current year - which is a shortened NHL season as is. And with it being a H2H league there will be playoffs as well.

So the fantasy season for this league is quite shortened. Therefore I want to eliminate as much risk as possible from any adjustment period. Also, if my understanding is correct, the players that have been traded are required to quarantine in a hotel room for 7-14 days. That is 7-14 extra days without skating and building chemistry with new teammates.

I think Laine and Dubois are giving up too much here in because of everything mentioned above and would ultimately go with the safer/less risky option in Konecny as he doesn't have an adjustment period or quarantine or a new coach or new teammates or 7 days without skating.

I concur with most of the responses above.

A - I prefer Laine and Konecny to Dubois for this season.
B - Laine is more risky because of new situations and playing under Torts. Anything could happen.
C - Konecny safest choice.

this year only i think Konecny is safer bet...but once he sets in i think Laine will hit another level...
