Guess I need a new avatar. Jets have a better chance PLD signing long term for less cap hit than Laine staying in Columbus.
Hopefully a win win trade. Roslovic could be sleeper in trade as he never got real opportunity in Peg for some top 6 minutes or linemates.

I’m a little surprised a bottom pair but NHL level D wasn’t part of the deal going to Winnipeg. That’s a big need.
Roslovic should be very happy in his hometown. Hopefully he pans out.
DuBois father lives in Winnipeg - he’s an assistant coach for the Moose. Maybe that’ll help the Jets keep him around.

As a guy who has inherited Roslovic on a roster - this seems decent for him. He should get some decent deployment once signed, and no quarantine.
It'll be interesting to see if either, neither, or both of Laine & Dubois want to move on - but I'm pretty sure the Roslovic for a 3rd rounder is a win for Columbus.
Want a Signature? Go to Settings, and you'll find Edit Signature down the list on the left.
I was waiting to see if Laine trade would finally open up things for Ehlers....and I'm not so sure.
Did we think Ehlers would get a PP1 spot because of Laines recent injury? Yes. But we were wrong, it was Stastny that got onto PP1.
Now with Dubois on the team, I see him bumping Stastny off PP1. And Ehlers still languishing on PP2.
Sorry if I'm out of the loop but do we know why they have requested to be traded? If it's the usual "small market" reasons I feel really sorry for them both.
Laine wanted to play on the top line and that wasn't happening as long as Wheeler was there. No one really knows why PLD wanted to be traded.

I think the Jets will end up winning this deal. It was clear when Little was Laine's centre that he wont be productive without favourable deployment. Columbus does not have a player like Scheifele or even a Stastny. I worry about Laine's production without an above-average playmaking + defensive centre on the team. Laine has the higher upside and probably will score more points but to win in the NHL you need top centres (and defense) on your team.
PLD doesn't need to outscore Laine in order for this to be more than worth it for Winnipeg. He has 1 extra year of team control, is on a lower cap hit next season and the Jets already have 3 other high end scoring wingers. He just needs to be a rockstar second centre on the team. Stastny will likely walk at the end of the year so they don't need to rush Perfetti or anyone else to fill that position and just focus on upgrading their defense.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
