    Waaaay to early to panic.
But never too early to test if the owner of Pettersson is panicking.

Long answer short, yes it's too soon to panic. In fact, for a player this elite unless they are playing injured, just always have faith that the rest of the season will be as productive as your prediction for the year was. There is every reason in the world to believe that from this point on that Pettersen will be a PPG player this season.

It's funny, I was listening to Brian Burke in the radio this morning and as usual, he made some excellent points about the start of this season.

He said that right about now, most teams are normally playing their 3rd exhibition game of the preseason. Things like PPs should be starting to click, especially for some guys who are new to their current teams. Precision should be starting to come together.

The other thing he mentioned was teams practices. Right now, with the condensed schedule, a lot of practices aren't even happening because they are playing so many games in a short amount of time, so that affects how some people are gelling, or lack their of, especially PPs.

He even talked specifically about Pettersson and he feels JT Miller coming back will help turn EP back around.

Whether it's Pettersson, or Fiala, or anyone else for that matter, everyone who's dropping their players early they were relying on to help their fantasy team is probably going to kick themselves when these players mental clock kicks into their normal regular season.

This perfectly summarizes a good GM lol

Knowing when people will hit the panic button is a art form. Especially early with goalies. When a goalie lets in 5goals in the last game of the week and loses him the goalie cats, drop a message on the league message board asking for a starter and put some expendables on the trade block. That way the sell low guy thinks it was his idea to start the conversation and you can laugh at his first offer

I tried making a small push to acquire him in my league without success. Offer was My Thomas, Zegras, a 2nd round pick and an 8th round pick for his Pettersson. He didn't bite.

I watched the game - he’s just gripping the stick a little tight. And Ottawa did a pretty good job against his line but obviously couldn’t stop anyone else. You can see his teammates looking for him and trying to get him going. He will get there - he’s just in his own head and it shows. I’m not worried.

Also, speaking of panic moves, a GM in one of leagues dropped Samsonov. I had grabbed Vanecek when Samsonov was put in the Covid list. I had a decent waiver priority and I got him. He’s already trying to trade for him back.

Pettersson has the type of ability where he's 1 game away from putting any questions to bed. However, a young goal scorer gripping the stick too tightly isn't anything new to us and this might be a time to sell for one yr leagues.

In any type of keeper league, no way am I selling the guy.

If I’m not mistaken look back at Nathan Mackinnon early on his career at times he struggled. I think Petterson wil be just fine. I hope he turns it ion soon though.

Remember when Aho was invisible for the first part of last season too? We all said he's too good to play like that all year and he ended up scorching hot down the stretch. I see the same thing happening with Pettersson this season.
