It is so hard to gauge young dmen. Both have potential, and both play for relatively low-scoring teams. Dobson has Pulock ahead of him on the depth chart, Smith has ostensibly Subban, though I suspect he has already surpassed PK. Bode Wilde is also in the mix for the Islanders.

Considering how Smith is playing right now, I'd probably lean towards Smith, but the sample size is incredibly small and I'm not 100% confident with that decision.

He put up another assist today against Buffalo, I watched the games this weekend and noticed Severson took over PP1 in both games. Smith didn't get a sniff on a 5on3 PP.

Well lost out on Ty Smith to someone with a higher waiver claim; did manage to snag Dobson, so we’ll see. Watched a bit of Smith last night and he looked solid.

    Thanks for the replies!

Dobson is a fine consolation prize! Honestly I might rather have him of the two anyway...

I was wondering if I should drop Pulock for him.. I'm holding out a bit, but I need to hurry

I picked him up after his 5th pt a few games ago but haven't played him cause i was expecting Erik Karlsson to show some life. I was going to start him this weekend but saw he was actually bumped down to PP2 for Severson. It seems like it may not matter tho as Ty got another assist in each game on PP2 and at ES.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.

Real bummer New Jersey is now down for the week with Covid. I was really starting to enjoy looking at the Devils stat sheets and watching a period here and there to see Smith in action.

He is their best option right now. This had to happen. Poor PK. What happened to that guy man. His skating was so strong.. injuries are the worst.

It is really weird what happened to PK! I didn't think he had any injury that would derail him like say Karlsson's Achilles injury. But he certainly isn't the player he was but quite a bit.

Have to admit, had no idea who Ty Smith was until I saw this thread pop back up near the top. After reading through, call me convinced. He was still available in my league (call it the NJ effect), and here's hoping he keeps it up the upswing.
