I don't know if he's really expected to be a surefire starter in the NHL from what I've heard, but you never know. The Hawks are just seeing if there's anything there. I guess we will see how it goes - they've got pretty much nothing to lose. I would still expect Delia emerges from the group, but I guess we can't say for sure about Lankinen just yet.

Maybe. To be honest Chicago has a full-on goalie competition, and the winner is to be determined. My original thought was that it's a real fight is Delia versus Lankinen, because neither has a lot of NHL time yet.

Subban is not a NHL caliber goalie, he's just an athletic guy teams dream on, and he was the guy getting first crack until he sucked as usual.

somebody there will have value, and since I had Delia since he first got a taste of the NHL, I knew most about him.

Subban or Delia is not the answer. Lankinen has shown some promise in the past. I definitely would give Lankinen a shot over the other two.

I think they're going to need to draft a goalie...*cough* Wallstedt *cough*

Lankinen is not the future starter IMO

In fantasy I'm avoiding Chicago. Betting I'm betting against Chicago all yr.

I'm barely even keeping an eye on Chicago's goaltending.

I think the other teams hold he same opinion. Just shoot for the middle of the net - they'll duck. How it seems right now anyway

I don't think any of the three are worth starting in any fantasy leagues that does not just count starts and saves.

Also, I don't think drafting a goalie next summer helps their goalie situation at all for at least 5 years.

An ahl goalies numbers are only as good as the team in front of him. That's why they should be a piece of the puzzle, not the whole thing when you evaluate prospects. Blackwood had some awful numbers, and now he's probably one of the best u25 goalies in the league.

From what I hear, goalie gurus really like Lankinen. They cite that he rises up to the occasion, and he does have some good career numbers in liiga. His WC tournament was also quite impressive.

Who really knows at this point. Chicago really sucks monkey balls, and so nobody will look particularly impressive or put up good numbers. Toews is really a linchpin to that team, and without him, nobody really cares or battles for one another.

How about Ivan Nalimov? Thought he was brought over to get a shot? 26 years old.

This is why I said at the start of this thread that I wouldnt be going anywhere near the Chicago goalie situation. No one knows who's going in there and even when they "win" that luxurious spot, they are going to get hammered.

Exactly. The Hawks have been giving up a lot of shots and high danger chances for years now. It was the excellent play of Crawford and Lehner last year that kept the Hawks in games. Whoever is in net is going to have a high GAA, a high number of losses, and most likely a high SV% as well. This is why I have always preferred a competent backup goalie on a good team with a low number of starts rather than a below-average goalie on an awful team that is getting a lot of starts.
