I know it's way too early, but Kubalik has been stripped of decent linemates for the time being and on 2nd PP. Batherson seems to be on first line with first PP (daily faceoff).
Would you ''risk'' dropping Kubalik for Batherson to gain some cap space? Would free up enough space to roster Pastrnak once he returns in place of either J. Hughes or Buchnevich.
Or should I be patient and see what happens, risking someone could grab Batherson? Other GMs do love those small salary guys.
Any opinion would be helpful. Thanks!

I would do that. Hawks are indeed a mess and Kubalik was due to regress a bit anyway.

Thanks. Ended up making the move. Kubalik was my last forward pick in my redraft and for some reason I really wasn't excited about owning him. So for my enjoyment I decided to go with Batherson... gonna watch a ton of North division hockey!

I’m gonna piggyback on this thread a bit, I don’t have salaries but I do have Kubalik in my dynasty and curious if I should take a look at dropping him for Batherson. There doesn’t seem to be a lot in interest in Kubalik as far as trades go around the league. I like the multi-cat productivity of Batherson but it has only been one game. Curious on some thoughts

Think of it this way. Batherson has produced at a 40 point pace in his NHL sample size over the past two seasons. That's with 3rd and 4th line deployment. With pp1 and line 1, we should see a solid output from him and the guy hits too. Go for batherson!
