    Default Sam Reinhart Question

I'll preface this by saying: after preseason tinkering is over, I don't knee-jerk react to the first week(s) of the season. However, Josh Anderson looked great last night, and his SOG and HITs would fit perfectly in my league. Plus, the shortened season has me playing more aggressive than usual.

My question, then, is about Sam Reinhart, who I would drop for Anderson. He was a panic pick for me and that's why he's on the block. My preseason notes are: "PP1; shoots a lot." That's it; so, I'm guessing others have much better insight than I do.

Is Reinhart a DO NOT DROP? Or, can I get the same production and then some from Josh Anderson (hoping he stays healthy)? As always, thanks in advance. Team in signature.

In a league with hits, Anderson will be a great addition to your team. I would most likely add Anderson and drop Oloffson in a one-year, especially since you have Reinhart already.

I'm starting to lose faith in Reinhart

I did not consider this, only because I LOVE Oloffson, and I'm hoping he reclaims his spot on the first line.

I would drop Oloffson as well. Hope isn't the best fantasy strategy. Reinhart has the production history. Anderson looked so good last night and the Drouin/Suzuki/Anderson line is going to be very good this year. Drop Oloffson but keep an eye on him. If he looks to be a better value than Reinhart (doubtful) pick him up again. Anderson should be a very good multi-cat option.

Okay, I think you're right, especially with the "hope" comment. I'm pulling the trigger. THANK YOU!

Personally Olofsson vs Reinhart is a bit of a wash for me. Looks like they're even going to be on the same line. these are ultimately not the highest-end players right now and if you want to take a swing on Anderson, you'll get by.

One concern with Anderson is your league's penalty for PIM. Anderson is a big bruiser and he's going to wind up in the box sometimes. Hopefully the added hits (and possibly even SOG) will make up the difference.

Thank you, Hoopo. Yeah, this can be tricky. If he was strictly a bruiser, I probably wouldn't do it. But those SOG and the explosive line he's on I think is worth the PIMS. These are the same considerations I had to think about when drafting Tkachuk lol.
