Jay Bouwmeester quietly says goodbye to a terrific NHL career. And he's at peace with it. My interview Monday with the 17-year NHL veteran and Team Canada mainstay:
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Likely underrated the first half of his career in Florida, but then the hype started coming with his move to Canada. What a skater.

Great defenseman. Nothing special for fantasy, but one hell of a real life Dman.

He's exactly what I hope Philip Broberg turns into in Edmonton.

Good on him - what a list.
One of those big prairie farm-boy defensemen that Canada has supplied for so long.
Buy a cottage in the Muskokas and drinks some pops with the boys in the summer, ice-fishing in the winter.
Best to him in his retirement. He deserves it.

He now lives in Canmore, AB (just outside of Banff). He's definitely been known to enjoy a few pops with the boys.

Hopefully with retirement brings less stress too.

With the move out of Florida brought real appreciation for his talents. What a player.
