I hate #9 but boy would that be hilarious.
I love #10. As a Leaf fan, totally worth to be hated even more and have "our" picture in the dictionary for this new word.

Curious to read some BOLD predictions for the this shortened 2020-21 hockey season.

I'll hit ya'll with:

1. - Roope Hintz will lead the Stars in points.
2. - Dominik Kahun will have Dominik Kubalik-like season in Edmonton.
3. - Vitek Vanecek will outplay Samsonov to the point he will be the starter in the playoffs.
4. - John Marino is the top point producing dman on the Penguins
5. - Anthony Beauvillier and Brock Nelson are point per game players.
6. - EDM finishes 1st in the Canadian division - only to be swept by the first non-canadian team they face in the playoffs.
7. - NJ will have more points than NYR
8. - Nashville will trade Filip Forsberg.
9. - St. Louis misses the playoffs.
10. - Brayden Point leads the NHL in points.

LOL- you have the first 4 and last guy on your fantasy team.

Toronto beats Carolina for the Cup.
Hamilton wins the Norris.
Pittsburgh misses the playoffs.

Chicago has the worst record in the league and wins the #1 pick.

2. Alain Vigneault wins Jack Adams, Flyers beat Flames in SCF.
3. Nils Hoglander finishes top 3 for Calder.
4. Patrick Laine wins Rocket Richard.
5. Penguins score the most goals this year, miss the playoffs.
6. Jake Guentzel scores 5 goals in an 8-5 win over the Bruins, Crosby has 7pts.
7. The L.A. Kings get swept by Vegas in the regular season, losing all 8 games by a combined 28 goals.
8. The Minnesota Wild win the Central division led by Calder winner, Kaprizov and Vezina candidate, Talbot.
9. Quinn Hughes wins the Norris.
10. Tim Stutzle scores 20 goals.

I had only looked at the first page, now looking at page 2, seems I'm not the only one predicting Laine to win the Rocket.

Yeah I guess it's actually 5050...

So the standings outcoming needs to be E, E, W, W (or reverse). Then you need both the same conference win. So chance is 50.50, but probability of having the right 2 teams win isn't 50/50.

I'm no probability master. But getting the standings to E, E, W, W and having the right 2 win can't be 50/50. But I guess E, W, E, W is a thing... yeah it's 50/50 lol

Get out some red & green M&Ms and have some fun putting them in 4 cups and taking them out.
It's not going to be exactly 50/50 with the 16/15 E/W distribution... but it's going to be really, really close.

Same theory as whether a couple having kids will have GG or BB... those counts are about similar to GB or BG.
If you separate 16 girls and 15 boys into groups of 4... and then end up doing some contest to get to two... there's 50/50 odds that it might be a same-sex championship battle.

Having a same "conference" Cup Final is 50/50 because there are only 2 outcomes.

But probability changes based on the 2 different types of standings:
Option 1
E, E, W, W or W, W, E, E.

This set of standings would suggest a higher possibility than 50/50, of having the same conference face each other

Option 2
E, W, E, W or W, E, W, E

This would need 1 team to perform an upset, making the probability lower than 50/50.

I get myself very spun around when thinking of probability because then I start thinking about actual real life standings. Cause everything could happen between now and then so then my thoughts get derailed.
