Rational imo. Gotta behave and make decisions based on how you think the season will go or we wont win our fantasy leagues lol

Personally, I love that Lafreniere is getting no attention. Normally when a kid of this calibre enters the NHL they're all the hype.

Seeing as there's 3 or 4 names routinely mentioned ahead of him takes a lot of 1st year pressure off.

he gets the luxury of working a PP with Zibs & Panarin. Two HUGE pluses over Kaprizov.

As far as I know, PP1 is still Z, Panarin, Kreider, Strome and DeAngelo.

Laf 'may' get on there at some point, but he'd also have to fight off Buch and Kaako for a PP1 spot as well.

I think it's because most don't expect someone that young to win it. Most of the time now it's someone who's 20ish who's winning it, and less from the most recent draft.

He's still on most people's radar though. It's like Shesterkin. He's already in the top expected group so you start looking for that surprise player. If I'm not mistaken, most polls have Lafreniere in the finals for the award.

FYI, it sounds more and more like Zegras will start the season in the AHL, which will hinder his Calder hopes.

No, they are not sending prospects down in order to tank. Very few kids are ready to make the jump to the NHL - the best mens league in the world - at 18 or 19 years old. These players need time to develop - some may never be ready for prime time, but to expect a kid to make the NHL squad (granted a pretty weak one at that) is usually unrealistic. The Ducks are being smart with their assets.
