He's definitely a player I think has a shot at the Calder if Subban stumbles early on. No matter what, I think Smith has a bright future.

Vatanen just signed in NJ. That hurts Smith's value quite a bit.

I don't see Shesterkin winning because I think Georgiev still gets a good share of starts.

That's a great point! It may be hard for a goalie given the time shares that will go on. Perhaps if one of the rookies (Kahkonen, Oettenger) ends up as the starter due to implosion or injury and plays lights out?

I think Kaprizov is too polished and MIN has the minutes for him.
I see him running away with this.

From post below, Zegras (18:1) and Stuetzle (9:1) are great value picks.
NYR is in too competitive a division for the Rags kids to win, IMO.

Shesty's awesome games last year... go ahead and count how many were against this year's divisional opponents...

some long shots I could get on board with:

Denisenko - If he can find minutes with Huberdeau and Barkov.
Heinola - Winnipeg's D is in need of someone who can play minutes... if he gets them he could get lots of points cause their top 6 forwards can score... and there will be lots of scoring in the North
Bouchard - Similar to Heinola above. If Barrie doesn't work out on the PP... and Bouchard ends up there with McDavid and Draisaitl.

I dont care how many starts Georgiev steals, Shesterkin will be a finalist. Book it! I'd say he, Kaprizov and Lafreniere are the odds on early favorites. There's always someone who comes from no where and surprises. Hard to say who that might be. I could see someone like Ian Mitchell from Chicago or Grigori Denisenko in Florida possibly surprising some.
