Hi all,
Don't have any defensemen in a keep 5. 23 skater roster. Love me some Aho, but getting the potentially top point producing dman seems to be worth it?
My other 4 keepers would be Barkov, Gaudreau, Rantanen, Andersen.

Over 82games I usually go by this.
50pt D (0.61ppg)= 70pt Forward (0.85ppg)
80pt Forward (ppg)= 60pt D (0.73pts)
Aho = PPG Forward
Makar = 0.75-0.90PPG Dman (61-74pts)
Makar with injuries could only be playing around 50-52games this yr, Aho prolly plays the whole 56games.
Makar = 0.85ppg this yr. So 42.5-44.2pts
Aho = PPG this yr. So 56pts
Because Makar is over the 0.73ppg mark, I would say he's worth more than a PPG forward. He's actually worth more like 1.05-1.10PPG player in my mind.
This is based on replacement level players for each position. The forward position, by the end of the yr, there's typically a few players sitting on FA around the 50-60pt mark. For defensemen, it's players around the 30pt mark. The difference in elite point scoring D vs and replacement level D is much larger than Elite point scoring F vs replacement level F.
There's typically 15ish Dman who score 50pts + per year. Your top 15 forwards are at PPG or higher. Just some math for thought
