    Some money aspects that have been made.

    Teams are selling helmet sponsors (Leafs have Scotia I do believe). Old news though

    LEague has sold division names:
    North Division = Scotia NHL
    West = Honda NHL
    Central = Discover NHL
    East = MassMutual NHL

    Pretty creative way to make money there.

    Hey, anything they can sell like that to help out the bottom line, I'm cool with.

    What are the chance of Bura to stay on the 1st line in Colorado?

    If that's the case, what do you expect from him in terms of points? 50 points?

    Woops missed the talk of the sponsorships here. I get it but don't love it.

    Anyways...all of this unfit to play talk already has me wishing I switched to roto this year. It's going to be a nightmare.

    Pius Suter centring the second line for the Blackhawks is unexpected (at least to me it is).

    A lot of the 'unfit to play' is simply due to players not having completed the mandatory quarantine period. They fly into town two days late - they miss two days of camp. Going to be a messy start.

    2 weeks ago I would've said no way, now I say why not?

    He didn't even play much centre last season in Switzerland (I don't think he did this season either but I'm unsure), I suspect he'll be moved to the wing in short order but let's see what the Hawks have in him for now.

    Morin said he always watches film of Matt Martin before he goes to bed.
    Well that's slightly terrifying.

    FWIW - from experience, I'd say 50%-75% of training camps open with one of the following:

    1. A new veteran being slotted on line 1 with the big two dogs.
    2. A rookie being slotted on line 1 with the big two dogs.

    It happens just every year, almost everywhere... it's a great way to instill some comfort/fun for the new or young faces.
    If it meshes, it might stick... but eventually the coach will go with what works... like Zach Hyman on line 1.

    Power-duos PLUS ONE.
    Very common these days, for camp openings.

    Especially with 2-on-2 drills being common. The power-pairs stay together.

    PHI, for example, opened Day1 with these:

    JVR-Couturier... Foerster (2020 draft pick)
    Giroux-Hayes... Allison (2015 or 2016 draft pick that PHI is still hoping pans out)
    Konecny-Patrick... Twarynski
    Voracek-Lindblom... Frost
    Raffl-Bunnaman-Farabee
    Morin-Laughton-Sandin
    https://theathletic.com/2300945/2021...training-camp/

    Ain't no way that Foerster, Allison, or Twarynski start the season on the top three lines.
    Three of Voracek, Lindblom, Frost, and Farabee will eventually work their way up on those spots.

    First they came for the boards, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a wall lover.

    Then they came for the ice surface, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a ice man.

    Then they came for the helmets, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a bucket guy.

    Then they came for the jerseys (the JERSEYS!)—and there was no one left to speak for me.

    Keefe's comments about Jumbo with Marner/Matthews is going to give a lot of people pause on Hyman - as true as what you're saying is. From NHL.com:

    Keefe said the idea of moving Thornton from his natural center position to left wing on a line with Matthews and Mitchell Marner first came to him when Thornton began showing interest in joining the Maple Leafs. Thornton played left wing for HC Davos in Switzerland's National League in the fall.
    Los Angeles Kings coach Todd McLellan, who coached Thornton from 2008-15 with the Sharks, said he'll be an outstanding mentor for Matthews and Marner.
    "I think it's great. It's great for those two kids to have Jumbo on their line," McLellan said. "He's such a good player, he's going to be so good for those young players, and he's going to drive them.
    "He'll make those two better as overall players. Jumbo will have fun doing that, and they'll enjoy having him there. https://www.nhl.com/news/joe-thornto...?tid=277548856

    99% of the time I agree... this one though, Hyman owners should be watching camp closely
