True - it could simply mean they couldn't attend the first practice. But using the term "unfit to play" is concerning as that is the same way both the NFL & MLB described their covid cases. I guess we just have to keep monitoring their status.

Yeah - that's the new BS smoke and mirrors catch all phrase. If it were Covid it'd be a couple of weeks-ish. I had not heard they brought Darling in on a PTO but it would make sense. If nothing else gets them a taxi squad guy.

Definitely slightly worried with a few established top lines from last season being broken up (Landeskog, Svechnikov, etc). Still early tho so i wont fret yet.

NJ: Subban has been paired with Murray and is on the PP1 so far. For jobs that arent necessarily won yet, im encouraged by this.

Tim Stutzle missed his flight to Ottawa, but sources say, he skated along the Trans-Canada in full uniform to Ottawa, averaging 27 km/h. My sources confirmed that he stopped only once in Thunder Bay, at Tim Hortons, for a modestly fresh Bavarian Apple Fritter and small ice cap w/shot of Jagermeister. Dorion greeted him at the players entrance and told him that he won't have any line mates because he's that good and won't require any.

Ya, there's quite a bit of "why not" type of lines right now.

Stuff like, let's put player A in slot LW1 to see if it works out. I know Player B works there, but lets try out Player A.

Or "Player C" is in better shape than P"layer B" so they play Player C in the slot to ease Player B into shape on a smaller role during camps.

Could be a lot of things. There's so much random stuff right now. Could be Contact tracing even! Thornton is quarantining with Matthews and Marner. Robertson and Hyman are not. Put them together during camp just to try and limit exposures to households.

Unknown. They are not saying anything. Covid has given them all carte blanche to not say anything of substance. It is also day 1.
