He was autodrafting as he's in Europe (I believe), so he must have set it up that way to grab him early.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

I hear ya. I liked my team while drafting for the most part, but didn't like it as much when the draft was over. (For the record, I'm Doughty Deeds).

Rask in round 7 was a mistake. I didn't want to draft him, but felt like I should because I only had Carter Hart at that point and I wanted two top goalies. I really should have waited and chosen another goaltender later instead. I regretted it about 0.001 seconds after I clicked the draft button.

I felt like I reached too early for Karlsson and Dylan Strome. However, I have been high on Karlsson for the past few months, and didn't want to lose him. Strome because he's the top-line centre. However, I probably should have gotten each of them a round or two lower (or maybe even multiple rounds for Strome).

    1. (10) Artemi Panarin (NYR - LW)
Hated picking 10th as obviously there's a few super elite players in the NHL. But absolutely did not expect Panarin to fall to me.

    2. (11) Patrick Kane (Chi - RW)
It was between Kane, Marner and Svech. May end up regretting this big time but I went with one of the most consistent elite players over the last decade. Was hoping the SOG would go up even more.

    3. (30) Roman Josi (Nsh - D)
Another tough call, but with 6 D I wanted to grab one of my top 3. Carlson and Hedman went so I made the move for Josi

    4. (31) David Pastrnak (Bos - RW)
Reaaaaaaaaaally hope this pays off. Laine, Hall, Wheeler, Hubs on the board.

    5. (50) John Tavares (Tor - C)
Thrilled that he last until 50th! Couldn't believe it.

    6. (51) Gabriel Landeskog (Col - C,LW)
Looking back I wish I went goalie here instead of getting 27 goalies after this.

    7. (70) Jacob Markstrom (Cgy - G)
With Saves, Markstrom was one of the final bonafide starters. I was happy with getting him as my 1.

    8. (71) Brayden Schenn (StL - C,RW)
After going Landy, went for another multi cat guy over players like Konecny, Nylander or ROR.

    9. (90) Shea Weber (Mon - D)
Kane, Barzal, PLD, Fiala were all on my list and went right before this pick. Took the steady points and peripherals.

    10. (91) Jonathan Marchessault (VGK - C,LW)
Don't love this pick anymore. Marchessault over Larkin or Horvat? Yikes

    11. (110) Nikolaj Ehlers (Wpg - LW,RW)
    Love the value here.

    12. (111) Mikko Koskinen (Edm - G)
Needed a 2nd goalie and went with another one who should see a ton of pucks.

    13. (130) Elvis Merzlikins (Cls - G)
    14. (131) Joonas Korpisalo (Cls - G)
Frankly didn't love anyone else on the board and while I know a bunch of other goalies lasted, scooping up this tandem is key for my peripherals. We know how CBJ plays.

    15. (150) Jacob Trouba (NYR - D)
Needed another D who provided stats across the board.

    16. (151) Jason Zucker (Pit - LW,RW)
Love the value here. Should have a spot on either top line all year.

    17. (170) Anze Kopitar (LA - C)
Again, loved the value. Underrated because Im sure he will be around a point per game.

    18. (171) Jake Muzzin (Tor - D)
See the Trouba reason. Might lose those few PPP but should provide SOG, +/- and Hits.

    19. (190) Ondrej Palat (TB - LW)
Ecstatic with this one. And off to great start with no Kuch.

    20. (191) Sergei Bobrovsky (Fla - G)
The injury news made him fall and couldn't resist taking him here. Im not sure I realized Varlamov was still on the board but either way. Happy with the value

    21. (210) Tyler Seguin (Dal - C,RW)
Dumb pick in a league with limited IR.

    22. (211) Erik Cernak (TB - D)
Filling in the D spots with heavy playing Dmen on good/great teams.

    23. (230) Alex Tuch (VGK - LW,RW)
Flier on Tuch. If he stays healthy.....

    24. (231) Jaroslav Halak (Bos - G)
Lol I have issues. But I know he'll be great when he starts.

    25. (250) Trevor Zegras (Anh - C)
Sad when I found out he was heading to AHL. Dropping.

Well see here;s the thing with this draft....I could argue any player from round 6 to round 10 to go in any spot. It's wild. I took Landy Round 6. Kane, Barzal, PLD and Forsberg went in Round 9. Would anyone be surprised if they were swapped? It's just so tight this year.
