There's lots of teams who will look past that and want him. His value isn't going up by any means, but I have no doubt there's still teams interested. Sure, some probably dropped out, but they'll have no doubt he'll get traded.

I hope Winnipeg doesn’t trade Laine for him. It would be a downgrade. Winnipeg needs Laine more than they need Dubois.. but I think it’s gonna happen. Sadly.

Regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois trade talks, as of late last night/early this morning: Winnipeg is believed to have the best offer on the table, and #CBJ continue to gauge the market to see if it will be bettered. Jarmo Kekalainen has made big asks of the teams still involved.

It would be fitting if they both got traded for each other - from one small market not particularly exciting place to another for both of them. They’ll both be demanding trades again before the season is over.

Laine for sure. I could see PLD getting his limelight in the North division this year and then just not resigning in Winnipeg in two years.

Supposedly it's happening though...

The Columbus Blue Jackets are trading forward Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for forwards Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

Winnipeg will also receive a third-round draft pick from Columbus, TSN's Pierre LeBrun reports.

I think Laine is a better player than Dubois but one is a center and one is a winger so value wise probably evens out. Roslovic for a third is probably fair value, I don't really think Roslovic is going to be any type of impact NHLer.

And adding a 3rd round pick is insulting. Out of the (same) 2016 draft, of 30 third-round picks, one - Adam Fox - is currently an NHL player.
