This could be Valley Fever a disease that has these symptoms. Not uncommon for people who live in the west. I think Shane Doan had it several years ago and he missed significant time.

I had that too...many years ago. Coccidioidomycosis.

    And Colorado's.

Three of the last four drafts have seen the team with the best odds of getting number one fall to four. It's happened to Colorado twice.

    2020: Detroit falls from 1 to 4.
2019: Colorado (owning Ottawa's pick) falls from 1 to 4.
    2018: Buffalo keeps #1.
    2017: Colorado falls from 1 to 4.

It's possible that Toews contracted COVID... and has other internal conditions that magnified it.
Georges Laraque is a former hockey player, obviously much older and not conditioned, but he really struggled with it when he got it.
I think Laraque had asthma - and that made it much worse.

I'd have to do some searching to see if he fully bounced back.

Anyways - if Toews is nowhere close to playing... he has to disclose something is up.
    Maybe its COVID-related, maybe not.
But how many players have not been able to play from other fatigue-related issues??... probably a very short list.
If I am not mistaken, once the new season starts, and they continue to do testing, positive test results WILL be made public. I think that was part of the latest and greatest agreement.

Obviously the new season hasnt started yet so this may not be in effect if this is the case for Toews.

    Good to know. Thanks.
Well - I, honestly, do hope Toews gets over whatever he is going through.

(On a side note: One of my wife's friends, age 42, just went into a local hospital with COVID. He had bad pneumonia Christmas night. They are finding things in his chest & legs (can't remember name). He says he's having trouble breathing and is extremely tired. Of my wife's friend groups... he & his family have been VERY social. Kids had still been involved in weekly cheer/tumbling... and the parents are still feeling safe attending 20-40 person events with their neighborhood group. We passed on the wife's 40th birthday party in Oct/Nov... which was supposed to be 50+ people. The wife has it too... and she has to stay home with their two young daughters, age 10 & 8. That family spent their Christmas with BOTH sets of grandparents... so there's that too. I'm a little "testy" about the way some people have been casually tip-toeing around this thing. Until him... I was very proud that I didn't know a single first-degree contact that had contracted it. Ugh. I'm both mad & sad about it. I'm probably unfairly extrapolating this story towards Toews. Maybe he is going through something else. Time will tell. Prayers to him & our friends.)
