Kirby Dach - wrist

No official word yet from @HockeyCanada but Kirby Dach is out of the WJC because of the injury suffered yesterday. So Team Flag of Canada loses its captain. CHI doctors still assessing Dach’s injury but he will be missing NHL time as well.

Gotta think its either sprained or broken, 4-12 week timeline is just my shot in the dark guess. Sucks for him.

Injuries are going to be a HUGE factor this year. An injury that may have been considered minor in other years could amount to a quarter or half the season this year.

It's gonna be a gong show. Add to that games every second day, intense divisional rivalries and teams playing each other 3+ times in a row, super shortened training camps, players getting COVID, etc.

In my non-professional opinion, cross checking someone in an exhibition game is a bad decision.

If fractured, 6 weeks cast + 4 rehab until “safe.” That would miss 7-8 weeks of the NHL season (half). Add 2 weeks if he needs surgery to set the bones. But if surgery WAS needed, it should’ve been yesterday, imho.
